PlayStation announces "PlayStation Stars", a new loyalty program for PSN users.

PlayStation Stars is an upcoming loyalty program free to join for PSN users, when it launches later this year. The program will reward users for completing various activities. These can vary from just playing any game, to winning tournaments, or earning specific trophies.
Completion of these activities will reward members with loyalty points, which can be used to reward users with select PlayStation Store products and even wallet funds. Additionally, PlayStation Plus members who sign up to the program will be automatically rewarded with points for purchases made on the PlayStation Store.
Members can also earn "digital collectables" based on a variety of different PlayStation franchises. It is important to note these are not NFT's. They are not for trading and cannot be sold, rather, they are just digital figures members can collect.
It has not yet been confirmed if long-term existing PlayStation users will receive any specific rewards for previous displays of loyalty, and an exact release date has not yet been stated.
